Nothing Phone (4b) Launched In India: Nothing has expanded its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Nothing Phone (4b). Positioned as the most affordable new entry into the company's ecosystem this year, the smartphone brings several features previously seen on the Phone (4a) series while introducing a larger battery, a new Snapdragon chipset and Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16.
The Phone (4b) also marks the debut of the company's new "(b)" series and continues Nothing's signature transparent design language with the Glyph lighting interface.

Nothing Phone (4b): Specifications and features
The Phone (4b) sports a 6.77 inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, HDR10+ support, up to 2,000 nits peak brightness and a 1,000Hz touch sampling rate.
Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Nothing claims the chipset delivers an AnTuTu score of over one million while also offering improved AI performance.
The device runs Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. The company has promised three years of Android updates and six years of security patches.
The Phone (4b) packs the largest battery ever on a Nothing smartphone, featuring a 6,000mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging. According to the company, the charger can take the phone to 50 percent in under 30 minutes.
For photography, the smartphone features a 50 megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8 megapixel ultrawide camera and a 16 megapixel selfie camera. It supports 4K video recording at 30fps from the rear camera and includes features such as Ultra XDR imaging, dual video recording and AI-powered image processing.
Other highlights include the Glyph Bar with 45 individually controlled LEDs, stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP64 dust and splash resistance, wireless AI features powered by the Essential Key and support for Google Gemini, ChatGPT and Circle to Search.
Nothing Phone (4b): First impressions
After spending some time with the Phone (4b), it feels instantly familiar. If you've used a Nothing smartphone before, the overall in-hand experience won't surprise you. The phone feels comfortable to hold thanks to its matte finish, and the Blue colour variant stands out without looking too flashy. Buyers also get Black, White and the limited RCB Edition if they want something different.
The signature Glyph Bar remains one of the biggest highlights. It continues to add a unique identity to the phone without feeling gimmicky.
The phone also comes with stereo speakers that sound loud and balanced during initial testing. The in-display fingerprint scanner is quick to unlock the device, while the IP64 rating adds a bit of peace of mind against dust and water splashes.
Display
The display leaves a good first impression. Colours look vibrant, outdoor visibility is strong and the 2,000 nits peak brightness helps while using the phone under direct sunlight.
The only thing we noticed is that the bezels aren't completely symmetrical, with the bottom bezel slightly thicker than the other three sides. It's not something that stands out during regular use, but it's worth mentioning.
Performance
Our review unit came with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, although an 8GB + 128GB variant is also available.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 handles day-to-day tasks comfortably. Apps open quickly, animations remain smooth and we didn't notice any lag during our initial usage.
Nothing OS 4.1 continues to be one of the cleanest Android experiences available. The interface feels polished, responsive and easy to navigate. There are a few pre-installed apps, including Facebook, Instagram and Amazon Music, but all of them can be removed if you don't need them.
Battery
Battery life looks promising on paper. The 6,000mAh battery is the biggest ever on a Nothing smartphone and the company claims it can comfortably last beyond a day.
Based on our early impressions, the phone should easily get through a full day of heavy usage and could stretch to around one and a half days with moderate use. We'll reserve our final verdict for the full review after proper testing.
The 33W fast charging support also looks practical, with Nothing claiming a 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes.
Cameras
The rear camera setup includes a 50 megapixel primary sensor with OIS and an 8 megapixel ultrawide camera, while selfies are handled by a 16 megapixel front camera.
During our initial testing in Leh, the phone captured good-looking daylight photos with natural skin tones and respectable dynamic range. The front camera also performed well enough for selfies and video calls. You can find the photo samples attached below.
We'll be testing low-light photography, portrait performance and video quality in more detail before sharing our final camera verdict.
Initial verdict
The Nothing Phone (4b) looks like a solid addition to the company's lineup. It doesn't try to reinvent the formula, but it builds on what Nothing already does well with a clean software experience, a distinctive design, a large battery and dependable everyday performance.
At an effective starting price of Rs. 29,999, it also becomes the most affordable new Nothing smartphone in the lineup this year, especially after the Phone (4a) series saw a price increase. Whether it lives up to its promise will depend on our detailed testing, but the first impression is certainly a positive one
