Hyderabad Water Cut: Several parts of Hyderabad will face an 18-hour interruption in drinking water supply starting Thursday morning, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The disruption is due to urgent repair and maintenance work on major water supply and power infrastructure linked to the city’s distribution system.
According to officials, emergency repairs are being carried out on the Phase-III main pipeline of the Singur water supply project. The 1,600 mm diameter pipeline, which brings water to Hyderabad, has developed major leakages that require immediate attention. The affected section of the pipeline lies between Pedda Pur and Singapur.
At the same time, power maintenance work will be taken up by TS Transco at the 132 kV Kandi Substation. Officials said MR testing, hotline rectification and routine maintenance will be conducted on the Pedda Pur feeder, which supports the water supply system. Due to these combined works, water pumping will be suspended during the repair period.

The repair and maintenance works are scheduled to begin at 10 AM on Thursday, January 8 and are expected to continue until 4 AM on Friday, January 9. Water supply will remain suspended throughout this period in the affected areas.
Hyderabad Water Cut: Areas Likely to Be Affected
Localities under O&M Division 15, including Malaysian Township, Madhapur, Kondapur, Doyens Section in Madhapur and the Indian School of Business (ISB), will be impacted. Areas in O&M Division 9 such as Bharat Nagar, Moosapet, Gayatri Nagar, Balanagar, parts of KPHB and Balaji Nagar Section will also face disruption.

In addition, water supply will be affected in Fathenagar under O&M Division 6, and in Gopal Nagar, Hafeezpet, Mayuri Nagar and Miyapur under O&M Division 17. Pragathi Nagar Section and the Mytas area under O&M Division 22 are also on the list. Areas served by Transmission Division 2, including BHEL, MIG I and II, Rail Vihar, Hyderabad Central University and Chandanagar, will experience a temporary suspension.
Hyderabad Watercut: Advisory For Residents
Residents in the affected localities have been advised to store adequate water in advance and use it carefully during the disruption period.
