Bihar Polls 2025: UP Announces Paid Holiday On Nov 6,11 For Voters In 7 Border Districts

The Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department, Manish Chauhan, issued an order on Thursday granting a holiday on November 6 and 11 for polling.

This holiday is for voters from the state of Bihar who are employed for their livelihood in the state's border districts.

Key Details Of The Order

Who is Eligible: The order applies to all voters from Bihar, including daily wage laborers, who are employed in the state.

Where it Applies: The holiday will be applicable in all institutions, offices, and industrial units where these Bihar voters are employed.

Type of Holiday: The state government has instructed officials to ensure that all eligible personnel receive the benefit of a paid holiday to cast their votes on polling day.

The order has been sent to all Principal Secretaries and heads of departments, as well as the District Magistrates of the following border districts, to ensure compliance:

  • Sonbhadra
  • Chandauli
  • Ghazipur
  • Ballia
  • Deoria
  • Kushinagar
  • Maharajganj
