On the significant occasion of the 123rd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) announced a historic strategic partnership with Google and Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU). This initiative aims to transform CCSU into the country's first comprehensively AI-enabled university campus, marking a decisive step towards inclusive and future-ready higher education in India.

Minister’s Vision

Removing Barriers to Education Speaking at his office in Delhi, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, highlighted the inclusive and transformative nature of this partnership. He emphasised that true development is possible only when barriers to accessing education and opportunities are removed.

"The youth are at the centre of the country's economic progress," the Minister said, adding that this partnership realises Chaudhary Charan Singh's enduring belief in linking education with India's realities and aspirations. He stressed the importance of learning in one's mother tongue while connecting youth with global technologies. In this new model, employability will be determined by skill and efficiency.

CCSU As A National Model For AI Adoption

Under this collaboration, CCSU will be developed as a pilot institution for the implementation of an AI adoption framework in higher and vocational education. Artificial intelligence will be integrated into teaching, learning, skill development and institutional processes.

This pilot project holds national importance as it will serve as a blueprint for universities across the country. By utilising AI-based tools and platforms, the initiative aims to:

  • Democratise access to quality education.
  • Bridge the urban-rural digital divide.
  • Address challenges related to language, access, and employability.
  • Benefit youth specifically in Tier-2 and Tier-3 regions.
  • Bridging The Skills Gap

The primary objective of the partnership is to address the skills imbalance in the job market. The one-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will focus on administrative, teaching, and research methodologies. Through AI-enabled curricula, personalised learning paths, and industry-aligned skills frameworks, the initiative aims to make students job-ready. Furthermore, it will increase opportunities for students to learn advanced digital skills and innovate in their mother tongue.

University Reaction

Vice-Chancellor Professor Sangeeta Shukla welcomed the move, stating that the AI-enabled campus will not only benefit CCSU students but will also guide policy and practice for AI integration in universities nationwide. She noted that this will further empower India's progress towards a skilled, inclusive and technology-driven future.
