Mumbai Local Train Update: In view of the upcoming New Year celebrations, the Central Railway on Thursday announced that it will run four special suburban trains during the midnight hours of December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

In an official release, the Central Railway said that the special services will run four special trains on both the Main Line and Harbour Line, aiming to ensure safer and more convenient travel for passengers celebrating the New Year across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

CR To Run Four Special Suburban Trains: Check Routes And Timings

Speaking to news agency PTI, a Central Railway spokesperson said that two special suburban trains will operate on the Main Line between CSMT and Kalyan stations, while two additional trains will run on the Harbour Line between CSMT and Panvel stations.

Main Line

- The special suburban train will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 1:30 AM, reaching Kalyan at 3:00 AM on the Main Line, while another special service will leave Kalyan at 1:30 AM and arrive at CSMT at 3:00 AM.

- The two special suburban trains on the Main Line are aimed at ensuring safer late-night travel for passengers commuting during the New Year celebrations across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Harbour Line

On the Harbour Line, the New Year’s special suburban train will depart from CSMT at 1:30 AM and reach Panvel by 2:50 AM. Another special service will leave Panvel at 1:30 AM and arrive at CSMT at 2:50 AM, PTI reported.

The Central Railway spokesperson further stated that all four special trains will stop at every station along their respective routes. Passengers are advised to take advantage of these additional services for late-night travel during the New Year celebrations.
