Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Gorakhpur on Sunday to review several ongoing development projects. The Chief Minister is scheduled to arrive in the city around 3 pm and will proceed directly to Talkandala in the Khorabar area to inspect the under-construction National Cadet Corps (NCC) Academy.
After reviewing the progress of the NCC Academy, CM Yogi will distribute blankets to needy and destitute people at the Rain Basera (night shelter) complex in TP Nagar. He will then inspect the under-construction heritage corridor from Pandeyhata to Dharamshala Bazar and assess the pace of work.

On Monday, the Chief Minister will attend the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the MLA Sports Competition at the Veer Bahadur Singh Sports College. He may also review preparations for the Khichdi Mela at the Gorakhnath Temple and the Gorakhpur Mahotsav, scheduled to be held from January 11 to 13 at Champa Devi Park.
Ahead of the visit, District Magistrate Deepak Meena and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajkaran Nayyar inspected the proposed venues on Saturday and issued necessary instructions to ensure tight security and smooth traffic management.

The NCC Academy, being constructed at Rs 47.88 crore by the Jal Nigam’s Construction and Design Services Unit-42, will be equipped with modern facilities, including an administrative block, hostel, shooting range and sports grounds. Officials said the academy will provide enhanced opportunities for youth from Purvanchal to prepare for careers in the armed forces.
