Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor Parking Fees: Car parking fees at the Meerut South Station along the Namo Bharat Corridor have been revised, with new categories added to the existing fare system.
While parking charges for cars have been hiked, rates for other vehicles and nighttime parking remain unchanged, Jagran.com reported. The revision aims to streamline parking demand and offer commuters more convenient options.
New Parking Charges At Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat: Check Details
Commuters at the Meerut South Namo Bharat station will now see revised car parking charges based on the duration of their stay, Jagran.com reported.
- Parking up to 10 minutes: Free
- Parking more than 10 minutes and up to 6 hours: Rs 30
- Parking more than 6 hours and up to 12 hours: Rs 60
- Parking more than 12 hours and up to 16 hours: Rs 80
- Parking from 16 hours until the last train of the day: Rs 100
- Overnight parking (12 midnight to 5 AM): Rs 200
While car parking charges have increased, charges for other vehicles and nighttime parking remain unchanged.
NCRTC Hikes Parking Fees As Meerut Station Struggles With Vehicle Overload
Meerut South Station, the only operational station in the Meerut district at present, witnesses a surge in parked vehicles. Commuters from across the city park their cars at the Meerut South Station before the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Express, filling both sides of the parking lot, Jagran.com report added.
The recent hike in parking fees is expected to affect hundreds of commuters. Speaking to Jagran.com, a frequent commuter, Rajesh stated that with the revised charges, he may now need to look for alternatives, adding to the cost of already expensive train travel.
