A brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who had been reported missing from their respective homes for two days, allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance along the Dhoommanikpur bypass in the Badalpur police station area on Wednesday night.

The Incident

According to Badalpur Station House Officer Amit Bhadana, the police received information at around 9:00 pm on Wednesday that a young man and woman were lying unconscious on the roadside near the Dhoommanikpur bypass.

Acting swiftly on the information provided by locals, a police team reached the spot and rushed both individuals to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Badalpur. Doctors at the facility declared the woman dead upon arrival. The man, who was in critical condition, was referred to a higher center. However, he succumbed on the way while being transported to the Trauma Centre in an ambulance.
