To provide relief from the traffic jams at the Chhijarsi toll plaza on National Highway-9 in Hapur, the toll management is constructing four additional toll collection booths. It is hoped that once these booths become operational, commuters will get relief from long traffic jams.

Currently, frequent traffic jams at the toll plaza are causing significant hardship for travellers. The Chhijarsi toll plaza is considered the busiest toll collection centre in the National Capital Region.

Approximately 80,000 vehicles, including cars, buses, and heavy vehicles, pass through it daily. At present, a total of 18 toll booths are operational at the plaza. Of these, nine booths are for vehicles coming from the Delhi side and nine for vehicles travelling to and from the Hapur side.

Despite this, the high volume of vehicles often causes the traffic system to break down. The long jams increase stress among drivers, and arguments frequently break out over minor issues. This not only affects traffic but also increases the risk of accidents. Commuters report that it takes more than half an hour to cross the toll plaza during peak hours.

Taking this problem seriously, the toll management has decided to build two additional toll collection booths on each side. The construction work is progressing at a fast pace. The management claims that all four additional booths will be operational within a month.

After this, vehicle movement is expected to become smoother, and the problem of traffic jams at the toll plaza will be significantly reduced. Toll Manager Indra Pratap Singh stated that the four toll booths will become operational within a month, after which commuters will find relief.
