A major road accident was reported on Sunday in Haryana’s Rohtak, Rewari and Hisar districts, where multiple vehicles, including buses, trucks, cars, and a motorcycle, collided in separate incidents, leading to massive pile-ups amid dense fog conditions prevailing in the state for the past few days.

Rohtak Accident

A major accident was reported on Highway 152D, also known as the Trans-Haryana Expressway, near Kharkara village in Rohtak district after several vehicles, including trucks, buses and cars, collided due to dense fog that severely reduced visibility. The incident occurred around 8 am when a bus rammed into a truck on the Ambala-Narnaul stretch, triggering a massive pile-up involving 10 to 12 vehicles. Several people were injured and admitted to PGI Rohtak for treatment, while officials remain on the spot to carry out rescue operations.

Rewari Accident

The accident occurred on National Highway 352D when buses travelling from Rewari towards Jhajjar collided. Several people were injured and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. The exact number of injured is yet to be confirmed. Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.

Hisar Accident

In Hisar, a multi-vehicle pile-up took place at Dhiktana Moda on National Highway 52 around 8 am. The incident began when a Kaithal roadways bus collided with a dumper truck. Another bus following closely crashed into the vehicles, after which a car and a motorcycle also became part of the pile-up. While hundreds of people were involved, no major injuries were reported except for the motorcycle rider, who was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Haryana Weather Warning 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh warnings for dense fog and cold wave conditions as Haryana continues to reel under severe cold for the past few days, with temperatures ranging between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius across most districts. The IMD cautioned that poor visibility could lead to hazardous road conditions and advised commuters to drive carefully, use low-beam headlights and maintain safe distances in fog-affected areas.
