Noida News:  More than 12 vehicles, including cars and trucks, crashed into each other on the Noida Expressway on Saturday morning because of thick fog in Delhi-NCR. The collision resulted in injuries to several people and a long traffic jam. In a similar incident, three vehicles collided on the Chakrasenpur flyover.

The accident occurred on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (also called Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway). The Expressway is a 135 km-long, six-lane road.

Police rushed to the spot as soon as they got information about the accident, clearing the damaged vehicles from the road and parking them safely on the side. The Traffic is now operating normally on the stretch. 

"In the said case, the police force is present at the scene, and necessary actions are being taken," the Police Commissionerate wrote on X

Videos of the incident that occurred at the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway, which went viral online, capturing the chaos, show a white car mounted on the central divider, its bonnet crumpled and heavily damaged.

Delhi-NCR woke up to a thick layer of smog amid intensifying winter and deteriorating air quality. The National capital on Saturday morning recorded an AQI of 390, with several monitoring stations crossing the mark of ‘severe.’

Noida Traffic Police Advisory

- In the wake of dense fog on Noida roads, the traffic police issued speed limit guidelines. As per the guidelines, on the Yamuna Expressway, the speed limit for light vehicles has been set at 75 km/hour, and 60 km/hour for heavy vehicles.

- For the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the speed limit for light vehicles has been set at 75 km/hour and 50 km/hour for heavy vehicles.

- On the Noida elevated road, the speed limits are set at 50 km/hour for light vehicles and 40 km/hour for heavy vehicles.
