The Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute in Lucknow will soon be equipped with advanced medical equipment, enabling patients to access modern cancer treatments. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Saturday approved financial sanctions of Rs 129.06 crore for procuring the equipment.
Pathak said that cancer patients from across the state seek treatment at the institute, and it is the government’s responsibility to ensure they receive the best possible care. He added that several critical machines will be purchased under this allocation.

The institute recently acquired a CyberKnife machine, a highly advanced technology used in the treatment of cancers such as lung, liver, kidney, and prostate. This is the first CyberKnife machine installed in a government medical facility in Uttar Pradesh.
In addition, equipment worth Rs 11.46 crore has been approved for the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida to strengthen its treatment facilities.
The Deputy CM emphasised that the government is working to modernise healthcare in all state-run hospitals and institutes by introducing advanced technology and equipment.
