The Meerut Bhainsali bus stand of the Roadways is set to be relocated outside the city to ease traffic congestion, affecting the daily entry of over 400 buses from various states and districts.
The land acquisition process for the new bus stands at Bhudbaral and Modipuram is in its final stage. The Divisional Commissioner has granted permission to provide financial assistance under the rehabilitation policy to affected families, 31 families at Bhudbaral and 48 families at Modipuram, each receiving Rs 5.5 lakh.

The district administration is now preparing the final declaration under Section 19, which can be issued at any time. Compensation will be transferred 30 days after the declaration, and land possession will be handed over to the NCRTC.
The project will see the bus stand split into two locations: 28,082 sq m in Bhudbaral and 11,848 sq m in Modipuram, totalling 39,930 sq m of land. The NCRTC will construct both bus stands, with work beginning immediately after land handover.

District Magistrate Dr VK Singh said, “Construction of both bus stands will be completed as soon as possible to provide this facility to the public. No work is now pending in the land acquisition, and the land will soon be handed over to the NCRTC.”
The relocation is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in Meerut city while providing modern infrastructure for passengers.
