In a significant push to enhance road safety initiatives across the state, the Yogi government has launched a special campaign in Uttar Pradesh for the protection of life and the safety of commuters.
The campaign, ‘No Helmet, No Fuel’, in effect from September 1, will be conducted across the entire state under the leadership of the District Magistrate, in coordination with the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC).
Running until 30 September, officials from the transport, police, and revenue/district administration departments will jointly hold the primary responsibility.
Addressing the citizens, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the objective of 'No Helmet, No Fuel' is not to penalise, but to inspire every citizen to adopt safe behaviour in accordance with the law. “This is a pledge for safety. With public cooperation, the campaign will help save lives,” he stated.

Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh added that the initiative is in the public interest and will encourage two-wheeler riders to make helmets a daily habit. The Food and Logistics Department will ensure monitoring at petrol pumps, while the Information and Public Relations Department will run awareness campaigns.
The Petrol Dealers’ Association and oil marketing companies have assured their full support. “Helmet first, fuel later should be every citizen’s rule,” Singh said.
