Ahead of the inauguration of Noida International Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 30, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) formally took charge of the airport’s security on Monday.

At present, 120 CISF personnel have been deployed, with the strength expected to rise to 1,047 as passenger traffic and security needs grow. The airport’s key was handed over to Praveen Ranjan, Special DG (Airport), CISF, by Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL) and Yamuna Authority.

As part of the deployment, Ranjan also handed over a Marksman armoured SUV with a satellite communication system to the CISF’s Quick Response Team (QRT). He assured that the aviation security group would deliver world-class protection for passengers, crew, and critical infrastructure, while coordinating with local enforcement agencies.

The CISF Aviation Security Group (ASG) and Airport Sector (APS) will oversee the first tier of security, covering the runway, terminal, entry gates, passenger screening, and QRT operations.

The second tier will be managed by private security, while the third tier will be handled by state police. Security protocols will also align with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).

YIAPL COO Kiran Jain said that with CISF’s presence, passengers will be assured of a safe, seamless, and world-class travel experience. Senior officials, including IG Airport Senthil Avoodai Krishna R, NIAL CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh, and Nodal Officer Shailendra Bhatia, were present during the takeover ceremony.
