A criminal was injured and subsequently arrested following a gunfight with the police in the Ecotech 3 police station area on Wednesday night. The incident occurred while police personnel were conducting intensified security checks on Pusta Road, leading from Kulesra to Lakhnawali, in view of the New Year celebrations.
Sequence Of Events
During the routine check, police signaled a motorcyclist to stop. Instead of complying, the suspect attempted to evade the police by speeding away towards Sainik Vihar Sutyana.
The Chase: The police team immediately pursued the suspect. In the darkness, the suspect's motorcycle skidded and slipped, causing him to fall.
The Shootout: Finding himself surrounded, the accused opened fire on the police team with the intent to kill. In self-defense and retaliatory firing, the police shot the suspect, injuring him in the leg.

Suspect Details And History
The injured criminal has been identified as Imran, a native of Japnapur village (Roza Police Station) in the Shahjahanpur district. He currently resides near the water tank in Habibpur village.
According to police records, the accused has a significant criminal history, with six cases, including theft, registered against him at the Ecotech 3 police station.
Recoveries made
Following the encounter, the police recovered several incriminating items from the accused's possession:
- A country-made pistol (tamancha) and cartridges.
- A mobile phone.
- An iron chisel-like rod.
- A stolen Splendor motorcycle fitted with a fake number plate.
- The accused has been admitted to the hospital for treatment and is currently under arrest.
