Noida Techie Death: New details are continuously emerging in the case of software engineer Yuvraj Mehta, who drowned in a waterlogged pit in Sector 150, Noida. A video surfaced on social media, which is being claimed as Yuvraj Mehta's last video.

In the video, Yuvraj can be seen using his mobile phone's flashlight to call for help after his car fell into the pit. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) can also be seen in the video attempting a rescue amidst the dense fog, using flashlights – an attempt that ultimately proved unsuccessful. However, the authenticity of the video cannot be verified by The Daily Jagran.

Yuvraj's Father Was Present At The Scene

The voices of the rescue team members can also be heard in the video, urging Yuvraj to remain calm. This video has surfaced amidst the ongoing investigation and actions related to the incident that occurred on the night of January 16, in which Yuvraj lost his life. His father, Raj Kumar Mehta, was also present at the scene at the time. Yuvraj Mehta's car was finally recovered from the pit on Tuesday evening, four days after the incident.

It is noteworthy that on the night of Friday-Saturday, Yuvraj, along with his car, fell into a waterlogged pit, resulting in his death. He was returning home to Greater Noida from his office in Gurugram.

NGT Takes Suo Moto Cognisance

Meanwhile, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) took suo motu cognisance of a news report concerning the tragic death of techie. A Bench of Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava and Expert Member Dr A Senthil Vel sought responses from the Noida Authority, the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, the Irrigation Department, the Principal Secretary (Environment), and the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar in the matter.

Issuing notice to all authorities, the green tribunal directed them to file their replies by way of affidavit at least one week before the next hearing. The matter has been listed for further consideration on April 10. Two FIRs were filed against the builders, who left the pit open, causing the fatal incident.
