Noida Techie Death: Rajkumar Mehta, the father of engineer Yuvraj Mehta, who died after drowning in a pit at the under-construction site in Noida, expressed satisfaction with the swift action taken by the Yogi government in the case. He also showed his desire to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, saying the meeting with the chief minister would bring him mental peace.

Mehta said that the state government has assured him of full cooperation. He stated the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the government has given him hope for justice, and he is confident that his son's soul will receive justice.

According to Rajkumar Mehta, the father of the deceased Yuvraj Mehta, necessary safety measures have been ensured at the site to prevent a recurrence of the incident.

Yuvraj Mehta had met with the accident around 12.15 am on January 17 after his car skidded in dense fog, broke a drain boundary and fell into a deep, waterlogged pit dug for the basement of an under-construction commercial complex. His father, Raj Kumar Gupta, and eye witnesses claimed the software engineer struggled for around 90 minutes, crying for help, before he drowned.

Here Are Key Upates In The Case

- The car of the 27-year-old software engineer, who died after the vehicle plunged into a deep water-filled pit at a construction site in Noida's Sector 150, was recovered on Tuesday evening.

- In this incident, the police took swift action and arrested the named accused builder, Abhay Kumar, on Tuesday. The arrest of Abhay Kumar, CEO and builder of the real estate company MZ Wiztown Planners Limited, was made following the FIR registered under serious sections such as negligence, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and endangering life.

- A delivery boy, a key eyewitness to the case, alleged that police officers pressured him to stay away from the media for 10 days.

CM Yogi took cognisance of the Noida incident on Monday and issued instructions for swift action.

- The government constituted a 3-member SIT team under the leadership of the ADG Zone Meerut to investigate the incident. This team of officers will investigate the matter within 5 days and submit a report to CM Yogi.

- The government removed the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority from his post. Earlier, Traffic Cell Junior Engineer Naveen Kumar was dismissed with immediate effect.

- The SIT headed by ADG Meerut Zone Bhanu Bhaskar, constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government, visited the incident spot.
