A state-of-the-art bus terminal is going to be built on 2.5 acres of land at Noida's Botanical Garden. The design for it was prepared by the Noida Authority's Noida Traffic Cell (NTC). On Tuesday, a consultant company gave a presentation on the design to the CEO of the Authority, Dr Lokesh M. The design is expected to be approved soon, and construction work will start after that.

The General Manager of the Noida Authority (NTC), SP Singh, informed that this will be Noida's most advanced bus terminal. Its features include a 4,900 square meter area for parking 26 buses, along with charging stations. Additionally, a 7,000 square meter area will be developed for pedestrians, along with about 300 meters of road infrastructure. To save energy, the terminal will run on solar power as well as electricity. The design also includes facilities like decorative lights, signs, screen displays and bus charging points.

The 500 e-buses that run as city buses in Noida will operate from this terminal. Bus services will be available from here to Greater Noida, the Noida International Airport, and other locations. The terminal complex will also have two toilets, a ticket counter, an automated ticketing machine, food kiosks and an auto stand with space for 14 autos. Benches for passengers to sit on, as well as decorative pillars, tree grills and planters, will also be installed.

After the presentation, the design will be approved soon, following which a construction company will be selected through a tender process. This entire project will cost Rs 18 crore. To maintain the quality of work and ensure it is completed on time, the project will be broken down into smaller parts for which separate tenders will be issued.

It is important to note that once a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is created for the city bus service, the Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna areas will receive 500 e-buses. When these buses begin operating, the need for this bus stand will grow even more, as this location is a major hub for passengers.
