A fire suddenly broke out on Tuesday evening at the camp of the Ramnam and Manas Prachar Sangh located on Kali Marg, Sector 5 of the Magh Mela area. The incident triggered panic among the devotees present. Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot upon receiving the information and managed to bring the fire under control. Two tents were reduced to ashes in the blaze, destroying all household goods and Rs 1 lakh in cash kept inside.

Incident Details

Bharat Shankar Shukla, a resident of Garapur, Tharwai, had set up the camp at Kali Marg, Sector 5, under the banner of Ram Nam and Manas Prachar Sangh (Namayan Shukla Dham). On Tuesday evening, Bharat Shankar Shukla was sitting by a bonfire outside the camp with others, while his 58-year-old wife, Santosh Shukla, was inside the tent.

Suddenly, the tent caught fire, leading to chaos in the area. The power supply was immediately cut off. People nearby gathered and attempted to extinguish the flames. Firefighters arrived shortly after and doused the fire.

Damage And Injuries

All belongings kept in the two tents were burnt to ashes. Bharat Shukla sustained partial burns while attempting to rescue his wife from the fire.

Official Statement

Magh Mela Fire Officer Animesh Singh said, "We are investigating whether the fire was caused by a short circuit or another reason."
