Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday launched 45 transport-related services for the public through the state’s 1.5 lakh Janseva Kendras (CSCs), along with a bus tracking app and the ‘Saral Parivahan Helpline 149’. Passengers can now register complaints directly through the helpline, while the app will allow them to track bus status in real-time.

The CM also flagged off 400 BS-VI standard buses, including eight double-decker electric buses, 16 electric buses, one retrofitted electric bus, 10 CNG buses, two AC buses, 20 Tata buses, 43 Eicher buses, and 11 interceptor vehicles. He stressed road safety, directing mandatory health and eye check-ups for bus drivers every three months.

Highlighting employment and environmental benefits, Yogi said improved public transport could reduce pollution and generate nearly three lakh jobs. He called for private participation in developing charging stations for electric buses and emphasised scrapping old vehicles and upgrading training at driving institutes.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for seven modern airport-style bus stations under the PPP model, including sites at Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Lucknow, and Ayodhya.

During the programme, appointment letters were handed to three women conductors under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, while investors in automatic testing centres received certificates. Yogi also inaugurated revamped auditoriums, Jupiter, Mercury and Mars, at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh announced that buses will be operational in all villages within six months. Currently, over 12,000 villages in the state lack bus services.

Taking a light-hearted dig at his minister, Yogi quipped about Singh’s punctuality, saying, “The programme was scheduled for 11 AM. I thought the minister would arrive by noon, but he surprised us by coming at 10 AM. Now he will also fix the timing of buses.”

Each service at Janseva Kendras will be available at a nominal charge of Rs 30, covering facilities like learner’s licences, duplicate licences, address/name changes, ticket booking, route information, and complaint registration.
