Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will soon have access to dedicated land for business expansion. The Industry Department has secured 70 hectares of land in Duari village, Akbarpur tehsil, Kanpur Dehat, from the district administration. Plans are in place to allocate plots to 10,000 small, medium, and large entrepreneurs, with infrastructure development—such as roads, electricity, and water—set to begin next month.
The initiative aligns with the CM Yuva Udyam Vikas Abhiyan, which supports young entrepreneurs through startup loans. Further integration with the Kanpur Region Integrated Development Authority (KRIDA) is also being considered to maximise benefits.
Key Developments and Implementation Plan
Land Acquisition & Approval: The land transfer was facilitated by Kanpur Divisional Commissioner and CM Yuva Swarojgar Abhiyan Director, K Vijayendra Pandian, who wrote to the Kanpur Dehat District Magistrate to officially allocate the land for industrial purposes.
Infrastructure Development:
-A boundary wall will be constructed to secure the land.
-The Gogumau-Duari road will be widened for improved connectivity.
-An electrical substation will be set up to ensure adequate power supply.
-Plots will be allocated based on a structured development plan.
-Efforts will be made to attract major investors to the area.
The land, located 3 km from Gogumau on Raipur-Gajaner Road and 8.5 km from Raipur on the Kanpur-Etawah Highway, was previously at risk of illegal occupation. With the new industrial expansion, entrepreneurs from nearby areas, including Panki, Dada Nagar, Chobepur, and Rooma, will be able to acquire land to grow their businesses.
Kanpur Divisional Commissioner K Vijayendra Pandian emphasised that this initiative will promote entrepreneurship and attract significant capital investment from large industrial firms. Joint Commissioner of Industries Sunil Kumar also highlighted that the survey for infrastructure and logistics development is in its final stages.
This project marks a significant step in boosting small and medium enterprises in Kanpur city, Kanpur Dehat, and surrounding districts, fostering economic growth and industrial development in the region.
