The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the construction of indoor mini stadiums in 23 government secondary schools across 18 districts. Each stadium will receive an allocation of Rs 4.92 crore for construction. These facilities aim to provide students with better training opportunities in sports such as basketball, badminton, and table tennis.

After school hours, the stadiums will be operated under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, allowing access to external players, coaches, sports institutions, youth clubs, and local organisations. This move ensures that the infrastructure benefits not only students but also the wider community.
