A strategy to promote local industries has also been adopted in rural and border districts. For instance, carpets and handicrafts in Bhadohi and Mirzapur, agro-processing in Amethi and Bahraich, electronics and logistics in Balrampur, green jobs and food processing in Mahoba, while agriculture-based industries and furniture and fittings have been identified as key sectors in Lakhimpur Kheri.

The Director of the Skill Development Mission, Pulkit Khare, stated that from October, youth will be trained every month in these selected fields. He added that the scheme will not only employ the youth within their own districts but will also change the industrial landscape of the state.
