In a major push to realise Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision of a ‘Grand Uttar Pradesh’, the state government has announced significant allocations in the supplementary budget to boost tourism, promote eco-tourism, and conserve the state’s historical and cultural heritage. The initiatives are expected to create new opportunities for local employment and strengthen the state economy.

The government has proposed funds to modernise major pilgrimage sites, including Shri Soron in Kasganj and Shri Kalki Dham in Sambhal. A Pilgrimage Development Grant of Rs 100 crore has been proposed for road widening, improved lighting, information centres, and enhanced drinking water and sanitation facilities. Another Rs 100 crore has been requested for the development of helipads to improve air connectivity to key districts and block headquarters.

The UP Ecotourism Development Board will be further strengthened, with Rs 10 crore allocated to expand its activities and promote forest areas, natural sites, and rural tourism. The government aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a prominent destination for nature-based tourism and gain recognition for rural tourism.

The budget also focuses on preserving the state’s historical and cultural heritage. Rs 34.4 crore has been proposed for the renovation of Lucknow’s Chhatar Manzil and the State Directorate of Archaeology. Additionally, Rs 50 crore will be provided to folk artists for purchasing musical instruments, while funds have also been allocated for the maintenance of public Ramlila sites.
