UPTET Latest News: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a significant step to provide relief to in-service teachers of the Basic Education Department from the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test). The CM has instructed departmental officials to file a review petition against the recent order issued by the Supreme Court, seeking relief for in-service teachers from the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirement.
The Chief Minister emphasised that teachers already working in the state have long been a part of the education system and have made a significant contribution to teaching children. He noted that the government has been providing them with regular training to keep pace with evolving educational needs.

In such circumstances, it is not appropriate to disregard their years of service and experience, Yogi said, stressing that the state government respects the qualifications and commitment of these teachers. He instructed officials to strongly present the state’s position in the review petition to ensure justice for the teachers.
The move follows the Supreme Court’s September 1 order, which made passing the TET mandatory for teachers of classes 1 to 8. The ruling has created uncertainty for nearly 1.5 lakh in-service teachers who were appointed without the TET requirement. Many fear that their eligibility could be questioned on the basis of a single test, despite their long years of service, potentially putting their jobs and families’ livelihoods at risk.

The government’s effort, Yogi said, is to allow teachers to focus on their duties without worry and ensure their services continue to be valued.
