Bengaluru Woman Viral Reddit Post: A young woman from Bengaluru is being widely praised online after standing up against harassment from her housing society and taking strong legal action. The 22-year-old shared her story on Reddit, revealing how a quiet evening at home turned into a major legal battle involving a Rs 62 lakh civil suit. However, the story soon took a turn. A comment that received many upvotes on the same thread raised serious questions about the account’s credibility.
One Reddit user claimed the entire story was fake and that everything the user wrote was made up. The user pointed out that the same account had posted earlier in 2025, asking for urgent remote work to pay college fees. They also mentioned other posts, now deleted, which did not match the details shared in the housing society harassment post.
According to the commenter, the past activity showed clear contradictions in the poster’s background, money situation, and personal details. Summing it up bluntly, the user wrote, "TLDR: OP story is fake," and added that the account appeared to be creating stories simply to gain "good old reddit karma."

As per her post, the incident happened on a Saturday night when five friends came over. She clarified there was no party or loud music; they were simply cooking and chatting inside her apartment.
Things escalated when a society member came knocking. "One uncle knocked and said, 'Bachelors are not allowed here, call the owner you've rented this flat from.' I told him I am the owner and that's your no goddamn business. I shut the door. That burst his ego there," she wrote. Shortly after, four to five men allegedly entered her apartment without permission, accusing her and her friends of drinking and taking drugs, and even demanded she vacate the flat the next day.

She later issued legal notices to the society and its board members for trespass, harassment, and assault. Sharing CCTV footage with the builder and society chairman led to the accused members being removed and fined Rs 20,000 each.
Explaining the legal strategy, she wrote, "We claimed compensation of Rs 62 lakhs. My lawyer was upfront that getting the full amount in India is almost impossible, but even 10-12 per cent would still be substantial. We also filed for a permanent injunction restraining them from ever contacting me again."
