Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed that its founder and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, who is lodged at the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, has been moved out secretly for medical treatment. The party’s statement further added to speculations going around Khan’s safety, health and legal rights.
"Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf expresses grave concern over reports and speculations suggesting a plan to secretly shift our Leader Imran Khan to a hospital for treatment without taking his family into confidence. Such an act is a blatant violation of both fundamental human rights and prevailing legal requirements,” PTI said in a statement, expressing deep concern.
"We totally reject any form of secrecy surrounding the health of the former Prime Minister. Hiding facts once again -- reminiscent of past patterns -- is tantamount to deliberately putting Imran Khan's health and life at risk," it added.

Mohsin Naqvi Gives Update On Jail Transfer
Last week, Pakistani media was told that Imran Khan would be shifted to a new jail in Islamabad. The jail is expected to be operational in the coming two months. As per Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Islamabad jail will be equipped with proper medical facilities.
Earlier, Imran Khan’s son Kasim Khan alleged that his father has lost most of the vision in his right eye after over 900 days of solitary confinement without proper medical facilities.
In a post on X, Kasim said, “We have been informed that my father, Imran Khan, has lost most of the vision in his right eye, with reports indicating only 15 per cent eyesight remains. This is the direct consequence of 922 days of solitary confinement, medical neglect (denied blood tests) and the deliberate denial of proper treatment in jail.”

“The responsibility lies squarely with the regime in power, the Army Chief and the puppets enabling this cruelty. This physical deterioration is happening under their orders, their watch and their responsibility. They have manipulated and warped the justice system in order to keep my father in solitary confinement,” he added.
Imran Khan, who is 73-years-old has remained behind bars since August 2023 and is facing several legal cases filed after his removal from office in 2022.
