Iran War 2026: Amid the ongoing war in the Middle East, the Central Command of the United States military released a video on Saturday showing the precise attack on Iran's Kharg Island. Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that the American military carried out a strike on the key island; however, he clarified that oil-related infrastructure was not targeted. His statement came a few days after he claimed that the American Navy can easily pass the ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
While sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), the Central Command stated that the strikes destroyed several key military sites of Iran, adding that the oil infrastructure was preserved. "Last night, US forces executed a large-scale precision strike on Kharg Island, Iran. The strike destroyed naval mine storage facilities, missile storage bunkers, and multiple other military sites," it stated.
"US forces successfully struck more than 90 Iranian military targets on Kharg Island, while preserving the oil infrastructure," the Central Command added. Apart from this, Israel also stated that it carried out a major operation on Iran's major space research centre and a factory, adding that it will continue to destroy these centres.

Earlier in his social media post, Trump stated that the US military "totally obliterated every MILITARY target" on Kharg Island while leaving oil infrastructure intact. However, he asserted that the US military might hit the oil infrastructure if Iran interferes with the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
"However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision," Trump asserted. However, Tehran has stated that the ship movement through the chokepoint will remain affected until the US stops its attacks on Iran.
