Opposition INDIA bloc MPs, including Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, led a march towards the Supreme Court on Monday. During the march, the opposition MPs filed a petition in the apex court regarding alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging large-scale voter deletions and flaws in the exercise.
The writ petition was filed on Monday, which names the Election Commission of India and Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar among the respondents.
AISA president Neha Bora was seen walking alongside Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi during the march. Thousands of political workers and civil rights activists joined the rally, bringing major stretches of the capital, including Mandi House and Barakhamba Road to a complete standstill.
Despite heavy security in central Delhi, the INDIA bloc continued to protest against CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
