The United States President Donald Trump has again been named in a rape allegation dating back to 1993, with his alleged links with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. This time, Democratic staff of the House Judiciary Committee released a 53-page report, wherein 11 women, five of whom have directly accused Trump of rape or sexual assault in Epstein’s company or presence. The White House denied all those accusations, labelling them as a political attempt to distract Americans from the administration’s record.
Trump Accused Of Raping Model In Hotel
One of the testimonies in the report features a model and former Miss Switzerland, Beatrice Keul. The former model accused Trump of raping her at the Plaza Hotel in New York in 1993, when she was 24.
The woman alleged that she met Trump at a press luncheon during the American Dream Pageant, an event associated with him. She alleged that Trump offered to help arrange her US visa and secure her admission to New York University through his associate Paolo Zampolli.
Trump then invited her to a hotel suite, where he raped her, leaving her bleeding and bruised. She further alleged that Trump made her promise to remain silent and reiterated his offers of help with her visa and university admission. Later, she declined to participate in another Trump-sponsored pageant in Hawaii several weeks later, according to the TIME report.
What does the report say?
The report, compiled by Democratic staff and released by Representative Jamie Raskin, the committee’s top Democrat, draws on testimonies with women, FBI records and documents released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Apart from Keul, the report includes allegations earlier made public by four other women who accused Trump of rape or sexual assault in connection with Epstein.
The report also mentioned the role of Paolo Zampolli, a modelling agent and long-time Trump associate who until recently held a diplomatic position in the Trump administration.
