A video has gone viral on the internet showing a foreign reporter and her cameraperson were injured after a vehicle lost control and crashed into them during a live broadcast in Monterrey, Mexico.
The incident occurred while senior reporter Alma de la Rosa Flores of GamaVision was covering the damage caused by heavy rains. She was reporting from an area affected by a landslide when a Jeep-type vehicle suddenly skidded and slammed into her and cameraman Cristo Morales.
In the video from the live broadcast shows Alma speaking to the camera when the vehicle appears to lose control around the landslide and then hits towards the journalists and crashes into them, abruptly bringing the live broadcast to an end.
The live broadcast was immediately switched back to the studio, where anchor Mario Gomez asked the production team to provide her location so emergency responders could be sent to the scene.
“They were hit by a truck that skidded while trying to avoid the landslide. I urgently need the address, please, and if there is anyone nearby," said Gomez.
Authorises soon arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance to both journalists before taking them to a hospital for further check up. Both Alma and Cristo reportedly sustained only minor injuries.
Alma was seen being assisted by paramedics as she made her way into an ambulance following the crash.

Later, Alma said she was 'grateful to God' for surviving the accident and said that she was already feeling better.
“I've been a reporter for 35 years. I hadn't seen the images, but I imagined them. I'm grateful to God, to life, and to everyone who was concerned about us. Thank you all. We're feeling better now," Alma was quoted as saying by El Financiero.
She also explained that she had warned those around her to slow down because the area had already been identified as a potentially dangerous spot.
“I was warning them to slow down a bit; we were in a previously identified location where we needed to slow down. However, unfortunately, this happened, but it's part of the job,” she added.
