Maharashtra Bus Accident: At least two students were killed and several were injured after a school bus carrying more than 50 students fell into a 150-foot deep gorge in Maharashtra's Nandurbar district on Saturday morning.

Police, local authorities and the fire department rushed to the spot and started rescue and relief work. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Bus Loses Control, Falls Into 150-Foot Gorge In Maharashtra

The school bus carrying over 50 students was travelling from Molgi village towards Akkalkuwa when the vehicle met with an accident near the Amlibari area, News18 reported.

According to initial reports, the bus reportedly lost control and plunged into a 100 150-foot-deep gorge in the Devgoi Ghat area along the Akkalkuwa-Molgi road. The impact of the fall left the bus completely mangled. Police, local authorities and fire department teams quickly reached the accident spot and launched rescue and relief operations.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, while efforts continue to rescue and assist all passengers. The local authorities, police and fire departments are actively carrying out rescue operations at the site, News18 report added. The steep terrain and narrow roads have made it challenging for rescuers to reach the wreckage.
