The sub-registrar's office reportedly waived Rs 21 crore in stamp duty for a 40-acre land sale in Mundhwa valued at Rs 300 crore in May. The deal, registered to Amedea Enterprises LLP, lists Parth Pawar as a partner. The land is situated close to Pune’s upscale Koregaon Park area.

Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that the three-member committee will examine whether the duty exemption was granted legally. “There is a specific law about Mahar Watan land and an exemption in stamp duty for specific purposes,” he said.

Bawankule stated that the chief minister has ordered a probe to see if provisions of law related to the Mahar Watan land have been followed. Mahar Watan refers to hereditary land grants given to the Mahar community, Hindustan Times reported.
