Maharashtra Rain Update: The persistent heavy rainfall in parts of Maharashtra has significantly affected life in the state, with flood-like conditions in key areas such as Mumbai, Konkan, and Marathwada.

10 people lost their lives due to rain-related incidents within a span of 24 hours. According to officials on Sunday, over 11,800 individuals were evacuated to safer locations from various parts of the state. The State Disaster Management Department reported that:

-Four fatalities occurred in Nashik, out of which three were caused by a house collapse.

-Two deaths each were reported from Dharashiv and Ahalyanagar

- and one death each was reported in Jalna and Yavatmal

How Much Rainfall Was Recorded In Affected Parts

The Marathwas region of the state has faced huge damage due to heavy rainfall, as the Jayakwadi dam on the Godavari River has reached its maximum capacity, forcing authorities to open all its gates.

-Harsul area of Marathwada region recorded 196 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.

-Beed, Nanded, and Parbhani Districts experienced heavy rainfall, with several villages affected by flooding

-Mumbai has been soaking in heavy rainfall since Saturday night, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reporting over 50 mm of rainfall in some areas between 8 am and 1 pm on Sunday.

-Thane and Palghar districts have experienced severe waterlogging due to increased rainfall.

The Chief Minister of the state, Devendra Fadnavis, reviewed the flood situation in Beed district and directed the administration to ensure citizen safety while intensifying relief and rescue operations in the Marathwada region.

Maharastra Rain: Most Affected Districts

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Dharashiv, Parbhani, and Solapur districts were part of the CM’s review meeting, as these districts have faced severe disruption due to rainfall.
