Maharashtra Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that several districts of Maharashtra are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the continuous rainfall is expected to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD also stated that the coastal regions are likely to witness thunderstorms and strong surface wind in the upcoming days. The heavy downpour has led to waterlogging in several key cities, including Mumbai and Pune, leading to inconveniences for the daily commuters. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

Maharashtra: These districts to receive rain

While providing details, the weather department stated that several regions, including Pune, Thane, Raigad, Satara, Jalna, and Aurangabad, are set to witness heavy rainfall on Saturday. Apart from this, the IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Nashik, Latur, Palghar, Nagpur, and Charapur, adding that these districts will witness light to moderate rainfall. The rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the maximum temperature.

Mumbai to witness heavy rain

The IMD stated that the residents of Mumbai are likely to witness cloudy skies and gentle breezes along with the rain. It further stated that while the maximum temperature of the city is likely to be calculated at 30 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to remain around 26 degrees Celsius. The continuous rainfall has also led to waterlogging in several key areas of the city, leading to inconveniences for the daily commuters.

The BMC has advised the commuters to plan their travel accordingly and limit unnecessary outings to avoid any inconveniences. The weather department has also advised the fishermen to maintain a distance from the water bodies for the upcoming days to ensure safety.
