Maharashtra Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday stated that several districts of Maharashtra are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that along with heavy rainfall, the coastal regions are also set to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. The continuous rainfall is expected to lead to several issues like waterlogging and power outages in key cities, including Mumbai and Pune. The weather department has asked the district administration to stay alert and advised the residents to follow the guidelines to avoid inconveniences.

Maharashtra Weather Forecast Till October 25:

- October 22: The weather department stated that several districts, including Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Dharashiv, Latur, Nanded, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Buldhana, are likely to witness heavy rainfall in the late hours.

- October 23: The IMD stated that moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in several districts such as Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Dharashiv, Latur, Beed, Nanded, Washim, Yavatmal, Wardha, Chandrapur, Gondia, and Gadchiroli.

- October 24: Heavy rainfall is expected in several districts, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Pune, Nagar, Solapur, Beed, Dharashiv, Latur, Nanded, Washim, Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli.

- October 25: The weather department stated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in multiple districts, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, and Dharashiv.

The IMD also stated that a low-pressure area is forming in the southeast of the Arabian Sea along with the Bay of Bengal near the Kerala-Lakshadweep coast, leading to heavy rainfall in several western and southern states. The weather department also advised the fishermen of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies.
