Mumbai News: A 20-year-old woman reportedly took her own life by jumping from the terrace of a 14-storey building in Dadar, according to police reports on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Zana Sethia, was a third-year B Com student and lived with her parents on the eighth floor of Techno Heights in Hindu Colony.

On Tuesday evening, Sethia was with two friends on the terrace when she suddenly jumped off, leaving her friends unable to react in time. Emergency services declared her dead upon arrival at the hospital.

While no suicide note was discovered, police found entries in her diary that suggested she had been experiencing suicidal thoughts. Friends of Sethia mentioned that she had been struggling with depression following a failed romantic relationship.

The Matunga police have registered an 'accidental death report' and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.

In separate news, a 17-year-old girl died by suicide in Naigaon, a day after her 24-year-old boyfriend ended his life. The man, upset over her refusal to move in with him, hanged himself on Saturday night. Unable to cope with the grief and guilt, the girl took her life on Sunday. The couple had been together for a year, but she was unwilling to leave her family. Devastated by his death, she blamed herself. Both incidents have been registered as accidental deaths, and police are investigating further.
