Mumbai Air Quality: The air quality of Mumbai has worsened in the past few weeks, leading to several issues, including lowered visibility and breath-related diseases. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the situation is likely to get worse in the upcoming days, further advising the residents to limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences. The average Air Quality Index (AQI) of Mumbai was calculated at 267; however, some of the regions also witnessed AQIs above 300, leading to concerns. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has advised the residents to wear a mask during the outdoor activities.

Apart from this, the Bombay High Court has also cautioned the Maharashtra government to take necessary steps to manage the situation. In an attempt to manage the situation, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a city-wide "Road Cleanliness and Dust Control Campaign" until November 30. The authority stated that water is being sprayed on the roads of the busy regions under this campaign.

Apart from this, the BMC has also halted construction work at more than 50 construction sites in the city to manage the situation. The authority also stated that the GRAP 4 will be implemented in Mumbai in the upcoming days if the situation does not improve. The Bombay High Court has also warned the state government about the poor air quality in Delhi. While ordering strict action, the Bombay High Court said, "We are all seeing what is happening in Delhi. What will be its impact?"

The authority stated that vehicular emission is one of the biggest reasons behind the worsened air quality in Mumbai. While providing details, it further stated that vehicular emissions are creating haze in the sky, affecting air quality. It also stated that the gases are not able to flow freely due to changing weather conditions and slow winds.
