Mumbai Airport Closed: Post Monsoon Runway Maintenance Work
The announcement comes in line with the annual post-monsoon runway maintenance work. The exercise is considered essential to ensure safe flight operation.
The airport said that exercise was planned six months ahead of the maintenance work announcement, and a Notice to Airmen was issued to allow time to airlines to schedule their flights accordingly.
"Coordination with airlines and other stakeholders initiated six months in advance to ensure flight schedules and manpower planning are synchronised. Mumbai International Airport Limited maintains the highest standard of air travel safety and security at CSMIA," said officials.
