Mumbai News: The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking announced several major route changes across Mumbai from November 1, including the launch of a new air-conditioned (AC) bus service for office-goers. The newly introduced AC route, A-101, will operate between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Cuffe Parade.

Mumbai BEST Buses: Revisions Across 23 Existing Routes

Along with the new route, BEST has revised 23 existing bus routes, curtailing some, extending a few and renaming others. However, several regular commuters expressed dissatisfaction after learning that some bus stops have been removed as part of the changes.

Mumbai BEST Buses: Eight Non-AC Routes Converted To AC

Officials said that eight non-AC routes across the city will also be converted to AC routes. These include services operating from depots and bus stations such as Malvani, Bandra, Bandra Reclamation, Trombay, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg and Bhandup.

Mumbai BEST Bus Update: Major Route Alterations And Renumbering

Among the route changes, the A-1 service, which earlier ran between Electric House and Santacruz, will now end at CSMT. The A-30 route has been altered to run between Opera House and Vikhroli depot instead of Mumbai Central. The AC route A-C60 has been renamed A-458 and will operate between Deonar depot and Borivali station (East). Similarly, A-341 from Antop Hill to Sion has been renamed A-336.

Mumbai BEST Bus Update: Terminations And Adjustments In South And Central Mumbai

BEST has also made other modifications. Route A-69, which connected Museum (near Regal Cinema) and Sewree, will now terminate at Wadala depot. The A-78 route, earlier from Colaba to Byculla, will now begin from Museum. Route A-171 will be shortened to terminate at Antop Hill bus station instead of Chunabhatti.

Mumbai News: Changes In Eastern And Western Suburbs

Meanwhile, the A-307 service from Vaishali Nagar, Mulund, will now end at Majas depot in Andheri East. The A-362 route from Kurla East to Chembur station will terminate at Deonar depot and the A-606 service from Bhandup station will now end at Ashok Kedare Chowk, officials added.
