Mumbai BMW Hit-And-Run Case: In the latest development in the Mumbai hit-and-run case, the police on Monday issued a lookout notice for Mihir Shah, the prime accused in the Worli hit-and-run case. The police officials are also interrogating Shah’s girlfriend, suspecting she may have helped hide him. Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, was allegedly driving the BMW car that fatally knocked down a 45-year-old woman on Sunday. Following the incident, police have reportedly formed six teams to nab the accused. 

Meanwhile, CCTV footage has also surfaced online, showing Mihir leaving a pub with four friends in a Mercedes car before the incident. The police said that he later changed the vehicle and was driving the BMW while his driver was in the passenger seat. 

The CCTV footage surfaced as Mihir is absconding after the speeding BMW car, he was riding allegedly hit a scooter in Worli early Sunday morning, killing a 45-year-old woman who was riding a pillion with her husband. Mihir was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident. Mihir’s father Rajesh Shah- a leader of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's party in Palghar, and BMW's driver Rajrishi Bidawat were arrested on Sunday evening for not cooperating with the police.

The 45-year-old woman was travelling to Worli Koliwada from Mazagaon Docks with her husband when their scooter met with a fatal accident. The couple were thrown in the air and crashed on the bonnet of the car. While the husband managed to jump off the bonnet, the car dragged his wife about 100 metres in an attempt to escape. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured action and stated that everyone is equal before the law.

The incident comes just two months after the 17-year-old son of a Pune-based real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, allegedly mowed down two bike-borne IT professionals identified as Ashwini Koshtha and Anish Awadhiya after hitting them while driving in an intoxicated state on May 19. The teenage boy was found drunk at the time of the incident. His parents and grandfather were arrested for allegedly trying to destroy evidence.
