Mumbai Dry Days: Liquor Shops To Remain Closed On THESE Dates
Dry days in Mumbai have been scheduled to coincide with major religious and cultural events throughout the month. Alcohol sales will be prohibited on the following days in Mumbai in December:
- According to the excise department schedule, the first dry day will be observed on Saturday, December 6, to mark Mahaparinirvan Diwas, the death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, Bombay Times reported. The day holds significant social and cultural importance, attracting large gatherings at Chaitya Bhoomi and other memorials. Alcohol sales will be prohibited across the state, including retail outlets, hotels, bars, and on-premises service points, to ensure order.
- The final dry day of the month is scheduled for Thursday, December 25, the report added.. Christmas, observed annually on December 25, is a nationwide dry day across India. Mumbai will enforce alcohol restrictions, with all liquor outlets, bars, restaurants, and licensed vendors to remain closed.
Residents planning parties, dining out, or social gatherings involving alcohol are advised to plan ahead, as liquor sales and service will be restricted on these days.
