Mumbai International Cruise Terminal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT) at Ballard Pier on September 20, 2025. Developed under the Cruise Bharat Mission, the state-of-the-art facility at Indira Dock is expected to make Mumbai a leading hub for cruise tourism in Asia.

Mumbai International Cruise Terminal: Terminal Capacity And Facilities

The MICT spans 415,000 square feet and is designed to manage one million passengers annually. With the ability to dock five cruise ships at a time, the terminal can handle around 10,000 passengers each day. It is equipped with 72 immigration and check-in counters to ensure quick processing and provide a hassle-free travel experience.Mumbai Cruise terminal

The complex also includes parking facilities for more than 300 vehicles. Built to international standards, the terminal aims to offer modern amenities while strengthening India’s maritime infrastructure.

Cruise Bharat Mission

The project is part of the Cruise Bharat Mission, which promotes three categories of tourism: ocean and harbour cruises, river and inland cruises and island and lighthouse cruises. Cruise services at the MICT had already commenced earlier this year, with Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal flagging off operations on April 21.

Terminal 3PM Modi’s Gujarat Visit

Following the inauguration in Mumbai, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Gujarat to participate in the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ event in Bhavnagar. During the visit, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth more than Rs 34,200 crore, including those worth Rs 7,870 crore focused on the maritime sector.

He is also scheduled to conduct an aerial survey of Dholera, review ongoing projects and visit the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal.
