Mumbai Local Train Block: Mumbai local and long-distance train services are currently undergoing major maintenance work, leading to the Central Railways announcing the service disruption. The service disruption is currently in place from September 26 and will remain suspended until October 10.

The maintenance work aims to enhance infrastructure and ensure the safety of passengers. During the scheduled maintenance time, several key upgrades will take place.

Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, Swapnil Nila, informed that the work will include critical maintenance work. Installation of new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) girders at Byculla and Sion stations, Pre-Non Interlocking (PNI) work at Karjat station, will facilitate yard remodelling are some of the key works to be done, improving overall service efficiency.

Mumbai Local Service Disruption: List Of Affected Routes/Trains

As a result of the maintenance and upgradation work, the service will be suspended or affected at several route lines and stations.

Local Service Affected On Karjat-Panvel Line

On the Karjat-Panvel line, a traffic blockage will occur for five hours daily from 11:20 am to 4:20 pm between September 27 and 30. Commuters have been advised to prepare for nighttime traffic and power blocks, affecting services at Byculla and Sion stations.

Byculla Station: On September 28, the block will be implemented from 12:30 am to 4:30 am, impacting both UP and DOWN slow and fast lines between Byculla and Parel.

Sion Station: On September 28, the service will be impacted from 1:10 am to 4:10 am, affecting both UP and DOWN slow and fast lines between Dadar and Kurla.

Impact On Long-Distance Trains

Long-distance trains will also be affected by the disruptions. Specifically:

- Konark Express (11020): This train is expected to experience delays at Kurla and Dadar stations.
- Howrah-CSMT Express (12810): Due to the disruptions, this train will terminate at Dadar instead of continuing to its usual destination.

Cancellation And Alteration Of Local Trains

Several local train services have been impacted due to the block:

Cancelled Services Of Mumbai Locals

- Dadar–Kurla local at 10:18 PM on September 28
- Kalyan–CSMT local at 11:15 PM on September 28

Altered Services Of Mumbai Locals
- Kasara–CSMT service will terminate at Thane instead of CSMT

Karjat–Khopoli Line:
- Complete halt in local train services during the block
- Specific cancellations on September 27 to 29
