Mumbai Local Train Block: Western Railway has announced a night block between Bhayandar and Borivali stations to carry out essential maintenance. The block will take place during the night of Saturday and early hours of Sunday, May 24 and 25.

The railway authorities confirmed that the maintenance is important for improving the condition of tracks, overhead wires and signalling systems. Fast trains will not run on their usual tracks during the block hours.

Mumbai Local Train: UP And Down Fast Line Block

As per the schedule, the UP fast line will remain blocked from 11:30 PM to 3 AM. The Down fast line will be blocked from 1:15 AM to 4:45 AM. During this period, fast local trains will use the slow lines between Virar or Vasai Road and Borivali.

Some local train services will be cancelled due to the diversion. Commuters are advised to contact the Station Master’s office at their stations for updates about train timings and any changes in the schedule.

Western Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, Vineet Abhishek, shared that this maintenance activity is part of regular infrastructure improvement. He also stated that there will be no day block on Sunday, 25 May, and all daytime local services will run as usual.

 

Mumbai Weather Today

In separate news, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) revised Mumbai’s orange alert for May 24 to a yellow alert, indicating light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning and winds of 30-40 kmph till May 27. The alert was changed as a low-pressure area near the south Konkan coast did not intensify as expected but may strengthen by Saturday. Mumbai has received 700 per cent more rainfall than its May average. On Friday, temperatures ranged from 31–34 degrees Celsius, with Santacruz recording a low of 26.2 degrees Celsius.
