Mumbai Local Update: The Western Railway on Thursday announced a major blockade on the weekend, that is, April 26 and 27. The blockade will be announced as the Western Railway is set to carry out re-girdering of a bridge between Kandivali and Borivali stations, the Mid-Day reported.
In an official statement, the Western Railway said that a blockade of 35 hours between 1:00 pm on Saturday and midnight on Sunday and Monday as the re-girdering work of bridge no. 61 between Kandivali and Borivali stations will be carried out on the fifth line, the Carshed line, and the Kandivali Traffic Yard line.
As per the official release by the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, the suburban services and Mail/ Express trains running on the 5th line will run on Fast lines during the block period.
The release added that while some Mail/Express trains will be affected, several local trains will remain cancelled.
On Saturday (April 26), around 73 suburban services (local trains) will remain cancelled, while on Sunday (April 27), around 90 suburban services will remain cancelled.
Mail/Express trains affected
19418 Ahmedabad – Borivali Express running on April 25 and 26 will be short-terminated at Vasai Road and remain partially cancelled between Vasai Road and Borivali.

19417 Borivali - Ahmedabad Express running on April 27 will short originate from Vasai Road and remain partially cancelled between Vasai Road and Borivali.
19425 Borivali – Nandurbar Express running on April 26 and 27 will short originate from Bhayander and remain partially cancelled between Bhayander and Borivali.
19426 Nandurbar – Borivali Express running on April 26 will be short-terminated at Vasai Road and remain partially cancelled between Vasai Road and Borivali.
Additionally, in another statement, the Western Railway said that it has extended the trips of 4 pairs of special trains on special fare for the convenience of passengers and with a view to meeting the travel demand, especially during the summer season.
Details of special trains
09001 Mumbai Central – Khatipura Special has been extended up to May 26. Similarly, 09002 Khatipura – Mumbai Central Special has been extended up to May 27.
09003 Mumbai Central – Delhi (Bi-Weekly) Special has been extended up to June 27. Similarly, Train No. 09004 Delhi – Mumbai Central Special has been extended up to June 28.
09007 Valsad – Khatipura (Weekly) Special has been extended up to May 22. Additionally, 09008 Khatipura – Valsad (Weekly) Special has been extended up to May 23.
09425 Sabarmati – Haridwar Special has been extended up to June 29. Similarly, 09426 Haridwar – Sabarmati Special has been extended up to June 30.
