The Mumbai Police has arrested a 43-year-old man after his pet pit bull dog mauled an 11-year-old boy in an auto-rickshaw in Mankhurd while he kept laughing.
The FIR was filed against the man by the minor victim's father. According to the information, the boy was playing inside the parked auto-rickshaw in Mankhurd on Thursday when the accused named Sohail Khan allegedly set his pet loose on the boy.
In absolute manifestation of cruelty, the man not only left the dog on the boy but also kept laughing as the pit bull injured him. Others also kept watching let alone intervening.

The boy sustained injuries on the chin. The video of the gruesome incident has also gone viral on social media, with using users calling out the inhumane act and demanding action.
In the viral video, the boy can be seen sitting frightened on the backmost part of the auto-rickshaw with pit bull beside him. The accused Sohail could be seen sitting on the back seat of the auto.
The dog leaps to bite the chin after which the frightened boy somehow manages to escape the auto while dog grabds his clothes. Talking about the incident, the boy named Hamza said, "The dog bit me. Then, I ran away. He even grabbed my clothes."

The police have registered the case under sections 291 (negligent abandonment of animals), 125 (causing simple hurt) and 125(A) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) in the matter against Khan after which he was arrested on Friday. However, he was later released with a notice under section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
