In a chilling incident, a 21-year-old man killed his sister's boyfriend in Mumbai's Malad after learning about his earlier affair with his mother, according to a report by The Indian Express.

The deceased has been identified as Nitin Premji Solanki, a 40-year-old ward boy at a private hospital. He allegedly had an affair with the accused's 24-year-old sister for the past three years.

Two months ago, they broke up, but the deceased was trying to contact her again for the past few days, claiming that he wanted to marry her.

The accused, working as a choreographer, was aware of Solanki's past relationship with his mother and that he refused to marry her. He entered into a heated exchange with Solanki for trying to get into his sister's life again.

The Indian Express report quoted Shailendra Nagarkar, Senior Inspector, Malwani police station, saying that the accused was upset over the relationships and Solanki's inappropriate comment about his mother and sister.

According to the police, the accused met Solanki at his Jogeshwari home on Saturday night, where they consumed alcohol. He met Solanki on the pretext of helping him get married to her sister.

After consuming alcohol, the accused took Solanki to a room near Krishna Ashram in the Koliwada area, Marve Road, Malwani in Malad (west), where he had kept a bamboo pole.

With the help of a bamboo pole, he smashed Solanki's head multiple time till he realised that he had died. The accused then surrendered at the Malwani police station, following which the police team rushed to the spot and took custody of Solanki's body.

The body was then sent to the Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali, where the doctors declared him dead. The accused has been sent to the police custody till September 18.
