Mumbai Weather: Mumbai is bracing for another round of heavy downpours as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the city, warning of very heavy rainfall until Sunday morning. The alert was extended late Friday, with the weather bureau cautioning of intense showers in isolated pockets across Mumbai.

Neighbouring Thane has also been placed under a fresh red alert, while the city is expected to shift to an orange alert from Sunday through Tuesday. A yellow alert has been issued for Wednesday. Continuous rain since Saturday morning has already left several parts of Mumbai waterlogged, slowing traffic and disrupting normal life.
